The 40-hour work week wasn’t designed for your wellbeing.
It was designed by Henry Ford and engineered for maximum productivity. Just enough rest to show up again on Monday. Not enough time to build something of your own, think too deeply, or question the arrangement.
We spend more time at work with colleagues than our loved ones – though some might prefer it that way 😄
But seriously – this was invented in 1926. Nearly 100 years later and we’re still here, with no real change beyond flexible working arrangements.
I remember it well. Making Friday night and Saturday last as long as possible. Then Sunday arrives and that familiar dread sets in – the countdown already started before the week even begins.
Sound familiar?
That feeling isn’t weakness. It’s your instincts telling you something is off.
The system is working exactly as designed. The question is – is it working for you?
If you’re ready to stop running someone else’s race, let’s talk.
